The Philippines has welcomed a new milestone for the number of recovered cases as it reached the 2,000 mark, owing much to the efforts of Filipino frontliners in the country.
The Department of Health (DoH) reported 107 fully recovered patients, bringing the total to 2,106.
DoH also reported fewer cases of those who have been recently confirmed positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at 264, with the total now at 11,350.
The health department also furthered that there were 25 reported deaths, bringing the total death toll in the country to 751.

President Duterte has recently ordered three areas to be under a modified enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) after the initially extended ECQ comes to a close this May 15.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that Metro Manila, Laguna, and Cebu City will be under the modified ECQ until May 31 following the decisions of the president after meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infections Diseases (IATF-EID). Statistics point that the three areas combined have a total population of 16 million individuals.
