The Philippine Red Cross has begun conducting more tests for Overseas Filipino Workers upon their arrival in the country.
Senator Richard ‘Dick’ Gordon, in his Twitter post, stated that they have began mass testing for OFWs at the newly-launched laboratory located at Mandaluyong City.

The senator shared that the mass testing is intended not just to isolate those who are affected, but to avoid further transmission and ensure the safety of the uninfected majority when they return back to their provinces and homes.
“Our aim is to really get our people tested so that we can immediately isolate those who are affected and prevent the non-carriers from acquiring the virus. We want to make sure that our OFWs are safe before they go home to their families,” said Gordon.

Presidential Adviser for Flagship Programs and Projects Vince Dizon stated that those who would test negative for COVID-19 will be allowed to go on home quarantine.
“Umaabot ng 1,000 mahigit ang dumarating na OFWs everyday. We want to test them and we want to work with Chairman Gordon para mabilis iyong resulta,” said Dizon as per a report from ABS-CBN News.
