The Philippine Embassy in the UAE, in cooperation with the UAE government, has repatriated 58 OFWs last April 23.
With this, nearly 500 Filipinos have been sent home from the UAE back to the Philippines since the start of the pandemic, all of whom had to undergo a 14-day quarantine as per the directives of the Philippines’ Department of Health-Bureau of Quarantine.

Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Hjayceelyn Quintana thanks UAE authorities for helping to reunite the OFWs back home to their families.
“Just like the previous one, this repatriation was made possible through close coordination and cooperation between Philippine and UAE authorities,” said Quintana.
A statement from the Philippine Embassy furthered that the 58 OFWs were victims of illegal recruitment who spent all spent months at the Migrant Workers and Other Overseas Filipino Workers Resource Center (MWOFRC) prior to their return.

Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Brigido Dulay assured the public that more OFWs are expected to return back home in the coming days, some of whom will be coming from the UAE.
“Marami pa pong parating in the next few days. Uuwi pa ang libo-libo nating kababayan galing sa ibang bansa (Many more are arriving in the coming days. Thousands of our compatriots will come home from other countries),” DFA Undersecretary Brigido Dulay said during a recent ‘Laging Handa’ briefing.
