Filipinos under ‘no work no pay’ scheme are now qualified for the financial assistance of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Philippine Overseas Labor Office – Dubai (POLO-Dubai) announced April 18.
According to its advisory, POLO-Dubai stated that Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who have been permanently or temporarily displaced due to the impact of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are qualified to avail of the Php 10,000 (Dh730) one-time financial assistance under the “DOLE-AKAP for OFWs” department order.
OFWs who are eligible for the assistance must be under the following situations:

  1. Regular/documented OFWs; or qualified undocumented OFWs;
  2. Have experienced job displacement due to COVID-19, as follows:
    – Workers who remain to be unemployed at the time of availment of the financial assistance under the DOLE-AKAP;
    – Workers under a ‘no work, no pay’ arrangement;
    – Workers who are unable to work and receive salary due to COVID-19 infection

POLO-Dubai also assured that the applications submitted by workers under the “no work, no pay” arrangement prior to the new advisory are now being reviewed and currently acted upon by their team.
In addition, for OFWs who are currently in the Philippines and are unable to return to their worksite, they can submit their applications to the Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Offices.
Filipinos who are eligible for this assistance must access the link in POLO-Dubai’s Registration Database at its website (www.polodubaiportal.org) and accomplish the form with the attachment of the requirements. It added that applications sent through e-mail, messenger apps, WhatsApp, and any other means will not be considered.
