The UAE has officially announced extensions of the validity of visas and Emirates IDs in the country as their way to support the public to lessen the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Brigadier General Khamis Al Kaabi, spokesperson at the Identity and Citizenship Authority (ICA), explained that the visit and tourist visas of those who stayed within the country that have expired early March will be extended until the end of the year.

Meanwhile, for resident visas, Brigadier General Al Kaabi stated that whether the said individual is in or out of the country, their visa will be extended till the end of December 2020 as well.
Brigadier General Al Kaabi explained that residents whose visas expired in early March 2020 will receive an extension of their visas until end of December 2020. This measure applies to both residents inside and outside the UAE. #UAEGov
