The Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management along with the Command and Control Centre for Combating COVID-19 have decided to extend to 24 hours a day to sterilize the country to prevent the spread of the virus.
There is also the possibility of extending the sterilization program beyond the recommended two-week period.
The metro and tram services will be suspended during the sterilization period.
“The measures aim to help members of the public who need to leave their homes for essential purposes and those who work in vital sectors,” His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said.
Earlier, the Dubai Metro reported that it will temporarily close as the entire world is going through a challenging time. This is the first time it closed its doors temporarily since its launch in 2009.
