Eighty three out of 115 Filipino workers overseas have already recovered from the dreaded COVID-19 disease.
The latest COVID-positive OFW is a 31-year old male seafarer of MV Diamond Princess cruise ship.
The seafarer from Negros Oriental is one of the 445 Princess crew who were repatriated to the Philippines and underwent additional 14-day quarantine at the Athlete’s Village in Clark City, Tarlac. During the quarantine period, tests show that two of the repatriates tested positive.

The Negrense seafarer has been tested negative twice for COVID-19 by Jose Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital and is expected to be discharged today.
Aside from the two repatriates, 81 other Filipino crew members from the Diamond Princes were tested positive in Yokohama, Japan.

Other OFWs who were tested positive from COVID-19 and have recovered are three from Hong Kong, two from SIngapore and one from France.
Meanwhile, 38 other OFWs are still admitted or isolated worldwide:
– 13 from M/V Grand Princess in US
– 8 in Singapore
– 4 in UAE
– 3 from MV Diamond Princess in Japan
– 2 in Hong Kong
– 1 in Switzerland
– 1 in France
