The Philippine Embassy in the UAE has confirmed that one of five Filipino COVID-19 patients that are under the care of the UAE health authorities is now cured from the coronavirus.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed the Embassy that one (1) Filipino patient has already tested negative for COVID-19,” said the statement.
In a statement released to The Filipino Times, The embassy furthered that UAE authorities are working round the clock to ensure that all patients are receiving proper care: “Per coordination of the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi with UAE authorities and according to the latest announcement from the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) dated 15 March 2020, there is one (1) Filipino among the twelve (12) new cases of COVID19 in the UAE, bringing the total to five (5) Filipinos in the UAE with COVID19. UAE authorities have assured the Embassy that the Filipino COVID19 patients are being monitored and are receiving necessary treatment according to highest medical standards.”
The embassy hopes for Filipinos in the UAE to continue praying for those who have been afflicted by the virus. “The Embassy calls on all Filipinos in the UAE to pray for the full recovery of our kababayans from COVID-19.”
The two cases of Filipinos contracting COVID-19 was reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) last February 8 and 21, with three more cases added recently – two in March 12, and the latest one last March 15.
