Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo fired back on the critics of the community quarantine imposed in Metro Manila to fight coronavirus disease or COVID-19 spread.
“Walang namamatay sa gutom. Ang isang buwan, hindi ka pa mamamatay,” Panelo said in an interview with Inquirer.
Panelo also defended the protocols implemented during the lockdown and restricting travellers in and out of Metro Manila.
“Anong gusto nila, huwag silang i-check o ‘wag silang makapasok? Sige nga,” Panelo said.
“Ang mahalaga intindihin mo na ikaw ay maaaring carrier at ang sarili mo ang nasa bingit ng kamatayan at pati ‘yung lalapitan mo,” he added.
Panelo assured the public that there would be assistance to those affected by the month-long quarantine.
