Entertainment halls including movie theatres, videogame centers and lounges will be temporarily closed as the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has ordered the temporary suspension of its operations.
This is part of the precautionary measures taken nationwide to curb the proliferation of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The department released two separate circulars where it was addressed to the owners of these entertainment halls and movie theaters in the UAE capital, says a report by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
“The decision is reflective of the ADDED’s determination to safeguard all Emiratis and residents living in the Emirate in line with public safety and protocol measures,” said Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, Chairman of ADDED.
The move, according to Rashid Abdul Karim Al Balooshi, ADDED Undersecretary, was to help people steer clear of crowded places.

In order to monitor their compliance, he added, there will be inspection campaigns to be carried out.
