The drilling activities for the Php350 billion Metro Manila Subway Project will start August this year, according to Department of Transportation (DOTr).
Transportation Undersecretary for railways Timothy John Batan said the tunnel boring machine will arrive and then assembled this August.
Inquirer reported that DOTr remains upbeat that the Metro Manila Subway will be partially operational by 2021.

“In our evaluation, we are still on schedule for partial operability,” Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said.
DOTr eyes opening of three subway stations next year, these includes North Avenue, Mindanao Avenue, and Tandang Sora in Quezon City.

The 35-kilometer Metro Manila Subway Project will have a total of 15 stations that will stretch from Quezon City to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City.
The subway project is expected to serve 370,000 passengers daily in its full operations.
The project will be fully operational by 2025, according to DOTr.
