Two Filipino seafarers aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Yokohama, Japan who have been infected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have recovered.
“Since the Dream Princess cruise COVID-19 saga began, 49 Filipinos have tested positive for the coronavirus. All infected Filipinos were cared for in Japanese hospitals. Two of them were successfully treated and discharged. Thank you!” Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Brigido Dulay said in a tweet.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin JR., on the other hand, thanked the Japanese government for taking good care of Filipino patients.
“They are so lucky to be in the care of Japanese health authorities. Thank you Japan. You didn’t just anticipate the needs but went out of your way with exceeding care,” Locsin said in another tweet.

Almost 500 Filipinos are expected to arrive in the country aboard the ship on February 25.
“It is all happening on 25 Feb. and Japan is extending so much help and care without our asking. The infected are in hospitals. Thank you Japan for your compassion and care,” Locsin said in another tweet.
