WATCH: Filipina, husband bid farewell to cruise ship members after being cleared of COVID-19

After testing negative and undergoing the 14-day quarantine, a Filipina passenger on the Diamond Princess docked off Japan has already left the COVID-19-hit cruise ship.
In a video shared by GMA News’ reporter Bernadette Reyes, Hernrisa Overton and husband Trevor were seen leaving their room.

They thanked the Filipino staff members who helped them into the elevator and even those who helped them while on board.
Upon their descent on the tarp-enclosed gangplank to the ground, an Australian official gives them instructions before saying “Welcome to Tokyo” and flashed them with a thumbs-up sign.
They went down along with other nationals who were given clearance to get off the ship.

Upon their return to Australia, the couple will still have to undergo another 14-day quarantine to make sure they are not infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
