The Department of Interior and Local Government has ordered a ban on all tricycles from using national roads to ensure public safety.

Interior Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III said that the tricycle route plan should be created within 30 days upon the memorandum’s issuance.

Local government units who will violate the order will be given show-cause orders and could face administrative charges.

Densing said officials of highly urbanized cities and provinces may be brought directly to the Office of the President for sanctions.
