Coronavirus death toll jumps to 1,486

Hubei province reported 116 fatalities on Thursday bringing the death toll due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) to 1,486.
Hubei Provincial Health Commission recorded 4823 new cases, including 3,095 clinically diagnosed cases, in the past 24 hours, Global Times reported.
On February 13, China’s health authorities expanded the diagnostic criteria for COVID-19, which caused the spike in confirmed cases and deaths.
The latest report brought the total confirmed cases in the hard-hit province to 51,986.
Japan on Thursday, reported its first fatality from the new coronavirus.
Around 65,000 people are infected by the deadly disease globally.
