DFA: 11 FIlipinos test positive for COVID-19 in cruise ship in Japan

The Department of Foreign Affairs said that the number of Filipinos who tested positive for the novel coronavirus on the Diamond Princess cruise ship currently in Japan has reached to 11.
“All of them are now confined in various hospitals in and around the Tokyo area,’ the DFA said in a statement.

There are no Filipinos included in a new group of 44 persons who tested positive for the virus on Thursday.
“The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo is in regular communication with the Filipinos in the hospitals and note that they are responding well to treatment. The Embassy, in coordination with the Japanese Government, is sending care packages containing toiletries and non-medical supplies to Filipinos who are in hospital as well as those who remain onboard the Diamond Princess,” the DFA added.

An Embassy Team also checked on the hospitals to talk to the doctors looking after the condition of the Filipino patients.
