Hubei province records 14,840 new COVID-19 cases in one day

Hubei Province reported Thursday 14,840 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The increase comes as Chinese officials announced they will now include clinically diagnosed patients in their tally, Global Times reported.
Any suspected cases with pneumonia-related computerized tomography (CT) scan results are counted as clinically diagnosed cases, according to the latest version of the diagnosis and treatment scheme released by the National Health Commission.
The latest figure includes 13,332 clinically diagnosed cases of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Hubei’s Provincial Health Commission recorded 242 fatalities bringing the death toll to 1,363.
The total number of infections in the province soared to 48,206 while 1,310 deaths were reported.
The virus has spread to at least 24 countries and infected 60,000 people.
