China has tracked 221,015 individuals who had close contacts with patients infected with 2019 novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD), state-run Xinhua News Agency.
Among the reported 200,000 close contacts, 12,755 were discharged from medical observation on Monday while 171,329 others still under medical observation.
The individuals who had close contacts with infected patients were placed under quarantine to monitor them if they had symptoms of the 2019-nCoV ARD.
The death toll has risen to 426 after Hubei province reported 64 new fatalities.
Meanwhile, the National Health Commission reported Monday 5,072 new suspected cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases 20,438.
The commission added that 2,788 patients remained in severe condition, and 23,214 people were suspected of being infected with the virus.
