Residents given 48 hours to leave Taal volcano danger zone

Residents inside the 14-kilometer danger zone were given 48 hours to leave the area or they will forcibly be moved out to safer place.
“We were given by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) 48 hours. After 48 hours, lahat ng tao namin diyan, kukunin na rin namin. I have instructed chief of police na umpisahan na magbalot-balot sa kanilang station,” Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. told ABS-CBN News.
Danao also said that police will be pulled out form the high-risk areas.
Earlier the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) ordered the local officials to halt window hours in areas under lockdown.
The Manila Times reported that DILG Calabarzon OIC Regional Director Elias Fernandez announced they would execute a total lockdown of 14 towns covered by the 14-kilometer radius danger zone.
According to the latest bulletin from Phivolcs, molten rocks have risen near the surface which indicates a major eruption may happen anytime soon.
Philvocs strongly reiterated the evacuation of residents in high risk areas as Alert 4 remains in effect since January 12.
