A seven-month-old baby in Russia was found dead after his mother placed him on their balcony to “sleep in the fresh air” amid a 7-degree Celsius weather.

According to the Russian news site Lenta, the child died of hypothermia, a fatal case where a person’s body temperature drops from its usual level.
The regional health ministry advised parents to be watchful of their children, especially during the winter season.
“Always know where and with whom [your child] is. Do not pass by if another child is in danger – in winter a child who is lost or injured on the street can very quickly become a victim of low temperatures,” the health department wrote on Instagram.
Police will conduct a criminal inquiry upon the sudden death of the baby. The incident happened in Far East Khabarovsk region.
