Military confirms rescue of two Indonesian kidnap victims in Sulu

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has confirmed the rescue of two Indonesians kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf in Panamao town in Sulu.

AFP Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) chief Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana told reporters the two rescued Indonesian nationals were identified as Maharudin lunani and Samion Bin Maniue.

Rescue operations were ongoing for another Indonesian kidnap victim identified as Muhammad Farhan.

On Sept. 23, three Indonesians were abducted by the terrorist group in Lahad Datu, Sabah.

One Abu Sayyaf member has been killed during the rescue operations, while one soldier was also slain.
