Ajman cops save lost child of special needs

Ajman police averted a tragedy when they found an 8-year-old Arab boy of special needs walking on the street at night alone and returned him to family.

A police patrol was in Naeemiya area when the cops spotted the child walking aimlessly on the road in a way that posed a threat to his life.

“The patrol noticed that the boy was alone and was walking on the road in a way that risked his life… policemen stopped and went to the boy,” Naeemiya police commander Lt. Colonel Gaith Al Kaabi said, quoted by local newspapers.

“They tried to ask him about his name and where he lives but they could not as they found that he is a child of special needs… they took him to the station and cared for him until they identified his parents within two hours.”

Kaabi said the father was contacted and asked to come to the station to collect his son, adding that the father told them the boy sneaked out of home when he was at work and his mother was busy inside.

Kaabi said the father was asked to be more careful and called on families that have children of special needs to make sure they keep them under their eyes.
