President Rodrigo Duterte will have a simple Christmas celebration in Davao City, his hometown, according to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
Duterte will again spend his holiday celebration with his loved ones and grand children.
“The President, as usual, will be spending his Christmas with his family, with his grandchildren, and children in his house in Davao City,” Panelo said. “His wish for the Filipinos is to have comfortable lives.”
The President will also hold an annual gift giving in Davao City.
He previously said that he wants Filipinos to remain cheerful despite the challenges they face daily. He also hopes that Filipinos will find joy when they share their Noche Buena meal.
“I hope that you will be sitting on a table, having Noche Buena with your family and happy about whatever the situation finds us,” Duterte said in an interview with reporters.
“I said we cannot control everything. There are things which are beyond our control,” the President added.
