The Sharjah Police had released an educational video awareness campaign on their social media accounts like Instagram to remind the public to avoid leaving their valuable belongings inside their vehicles.
They’ve used electronic display across the Emirates, educational brochures translated into three languages: Arabic, English and Urdu were also distributed throughout the campaign days.
The Sharjah Police said that the comprehensive awareness campaign was in line with the goal of the Interior Ministry to strengthen security and safety.
The General Command of Sharjah Police affirms that they are keen about security and awareness of the society and that those owners who left their precious belongings: telephones, money, documents, money purse and handbags for women would only encourage weak souls to commit theft.
If a suspected car or persons followed them on the road, call the (999) to have the assistance of the authorities, the Sharjah police said.
Lastly, the Sharjah Police had added that if a thief did break in and steal the contents of your car, they advise owners not to tamper with the contents of the vehicle and wait for the authorities to come.
