BI arrests Chinese drug lord in NAIA

Immigration officials have today arrested a Chinese drug lord at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.

The 29 year-old Chinese national, Hong Liangyi was arrested while he was about to board his flight to Turkey with final destination being Iran, officials said.

Port Operations chief Grifton Medina said there is a hold departure order (HDO) and warrant of arrest for Hong in Cavite and Batangas.

The Chinese national is part of the Dragon Wu International Syndicate and was behind several drug laboratories, officials said.

A Tagaytay court has issued a hold departure order against Hong and 2 other drug suspects.

The Chinese national is now under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
