UPDATED: A magnitude 5.5 quake shook several areas of Luzon Friday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The earthquake hit Burdeos town in Quezon province at 4:28 p.m. At 5:02p.m., magnitude 2.4 aftershock was felt.
Intensity 4 was felt in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte and Quezon City. Intensity 3 was felt in Guinyangan, Quezon province. Meanwhile, an instrumental intensity 3 was recorded in Tagaytay City and Quezon City.

In Manila, Mayor Isko Moreno ordered the Manila DRRM Office “to monitor and report the impact of the earthquake that was felt in Manila this afternoon.
The operations of both MRT and LRT were temporarily suspended after the quake.
Various universities in Metro Manila, including the Ateneo University, Far Eastern University, and TIP have suspended their classes as of 5 p.m.
Other universities and colleges that have ordered suspension are as follow: LETRAN, PUP NCR branches and Campuses, FEATI, PWU Taft Avenue and PWU Jasms Indiana Campuses, and UST Senior High School.
