An Asian accused of stealing mobile phones from two separate shops and fleeing through the AC vents tried to escape the same way from the police station.
While he managed to escape with the phone loot, he was not as lucky with the police who caught him just before he was out of the vent.
A court in Ras Al Khaimah branded the man a “chronic thief and a source of evil” and sentenced him to four months in prison and ordered his deportation.
Newspapers said the unnamed man confessed that he robbed two mobile phone shops in the Northern emirate as well as Dh1,000 from a local company.
