CIBAC Party-list Representative and Jesus Is Lord Founder Bro. Eddie Villanueva casts doubt on the incident involving trans woman Gretchen Diez last month.
“This should inspire the nation that this is the danger of the SOGIE bill,” Villanueva told ABS-CBN News.
The incident involving Diez triggered calls to pass the SOGIE equality law which Villanueva strongly opposed.
“Suddenly a transgender woman would like to use the restroom exclusively for women and these women complained to the janitress, she was just doing her job,” Villanueva added.
Villanueva also believed that there was injustice done to the mall personnels. He added that the video and story appeared to be scripted,
“This is a little bit scripted suddenly. Mayroong video tapos may mga dumating na mga pulitiko,” he said.
He added that SOGIE bill should not be passed at the expense of other groups.
