United Arab Emirates (UAE) royals and leaders offered their sympathies and condolences on the drath of esteemed Emirati businessman Said Ahmad Al Ghurair.
Leading the condolence meet for the businessman who passed away on Tuesday, August 27 are His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.
Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Saud visited Al Ghurair family residence in Al Khawaneej, Dubai, and offered heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.
Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was among those who paid their respects from across the country to mourn at Al Ghurair’s residence in Al Khawaneej.
The Al Ghurair family welcomed those who showed their respects to their patriarch. The mourning meet will be until Thursday.
Al Ghuarair is considered to be a pillar of the UAE economy. It was in late 1950s when Dubai experienf dramatic economic growth under the visionary leader Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
It was also during this time when Al Ghurair established the Al Ghurair Group in 1960 to unite the family’s diverse and expanding business interests.
Under Al Ghurair the company expanded to retail, manufacturing and real estate businesses.
He was born in 1924. He was 95 years old.
