The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) has withdrawn the accreditation of WellMed Dialysis Center over allegations of fake claims including those belonging to deceased patients.
“PhilHealth withdraws WellMed Laboratory and Dialysis Center’s accreditation today, June 18, 2019 in view of fraudulent claims filed on behalf of deceased patients,” PhilHealth said in a statement.
PhilHealth aslo advised WellMed’s patients to find other accredited dialysis centers.
Two former employees of Wellmed revealed that they have been filing online claims for dead patients amounting to more than Php2 thousand pesos per dialysis treatment.
