Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana expressed her gratitude towards the Filipino and UAE communities as she reveled in the strong ties that both countries have formed as the Philippines celebrates its 121st Independence Day.
In her speech at the Philippine Diplomatic Reception at the Dusit Thani in Abu Dhabi, she thanked the UAE government for their kindness and welcoming arms to improve the welfare of all expat workers. “I wish to thank the government and the people of the UAE for graciously hosting these talented, dynamic, skilled Filipinos. We are grateful for all the UAE’s initiatives in improving the welfare of all expatriate workers, including the Filipinos, across the Emirates,” said Quintana.
In attendance during the Philippine Diplomatic Reception were officers from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), including MOFAIC Under-Secretary Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei who received Quintana’s copy of credentials as a gesture that officially began her tour of duty here in the UAE around September 2018.
The ceremony was also attended by Ahmed Al Hay Al Hameli, Director of the West Asia Administration at MoFAIC, Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Director of the Foreign Resident’s Affairs Department at the Ministry, Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, Director of the Visits Affairs Department at the Ministry, senior officials, more than 50 members of Arab and foreign diplomatic corps accredited to the UAE, and members of the Filipino community in the country.
