An overseas Filipino worker was stabbed to death by her husband in Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte, ABS-CBN News reported.
Erlina Lumacang sustained 17 stab wounds from Leofer, her husband.
Felicitas Natial, Lumacang’s daughter-in-law, said she was on her way home when the victim who had blood on her belly called her.
The suspect tested positive in an alcohol breath test. He will also be investigated for use of illegal drugs.
Leofer said he committed the crime because he got jealous.
Leofer is confined in a hospital after he tried to kill himself following the stabbing incident. He will be filing a case of parricide.
