Kuwait OFW laid to rest in Isabela, relatives ask Duterte for justice

Manila, Philippines- Constancia ‘Connie’ Dayag, the Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who died in Kuwait has been laid to rest in her Isabela hometown.

Dayag died upon arrival at a hospital in Kuwait on May 15. The cause of her death is still under investigation.

Her family released white balloons during her burial in Angadanan town.

Dayag’s daughter Lovely Jane said President Rodrigo Duterte should intervene on her mother’s murder case.

“We doubt the forensic report from Kuwait so we call on the Philippine government to speed up the filing of charges against the employer,” Lovely Jane said in an interview with Inquirer.net

Labor Secretary Sylvestre Bello attended the burial and gave assurance to the Dayag family that the government is doing everything to ensure justice.

The Labor Secretary also asked Kuwait to ban employers with records of abuse from hiring Filipino workers.
