If Elections Commissioner Rowena Guanzon can have her way, she’ll have the 12 winning senatorial candidates to be proclaimed after the transmission of all election results.
“Gusto ko tapusin na lang ‘yang 100 percent transmitted para wala nang maraming tanong. Baka may issues pang lumabas diyan (What I want is to wait for the 100 percent transmission to avoid many questions. Issues might be raised),” Guanzon said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.
She also wants the 12 winning candidates to be proclaimed simultaneously to avoid issues.
“Mahirap nang magsisi (That’s better than having regrets),” Guanzon said.
She said election commissioners will still meet with the National Board of Canvassers to see if the number of transmitted election results is sufficient to proclaim the winners.
Earlier, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) said the proclamation of winners would not push through this Sunday because the poll body is yet to receive at least 13 more certificates of canvass. (Rappler photo)
