What will be the weather during historic Papal Mass in UAE?

More than 130,000 people are expected to attend the historic mass in Abu Dhabi to be lead by Pope Francis on Tuesday, February 5.

As early as now, different weather stations are already releasing weather predictions in Abu Dhabi for the said date.

Generally, the weather in Abu Dhabi will be “partly sunny and pleasant” with no chance of rainfall as per Accuweather.com.

The maximum temperature will be at 25 degrees with the minimum temperature at 16 degrees.

Another weather website, Weather.com, echoed the same forecast, predicting that the weather will be “mostly sunny” with no chance of rainfall.

Accuweather.com predicts that the weather on Monday, February 4, will be rainy with 53 percent chance of rainfall and drizzle especially in the morning.

Papal mass attendees are still advised to wait for official weather forecast from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) UAE which has only released weather forecast until February 2.


The Papal Visit marks 1st visit of a Pope to the MENA region. Themed ‘Make Me a Channel of Your Peace’, the visit is a positive response of the pontiff and the Vatican to the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the UAE.

In line with the UAE’s ‘Year of Tolerance’ the visit is part of the celebrations of the ‘International Interfaith Meeting on Human Fraternity’.

10:00 PM – Arrival at the Abu Dhabi Presidential Airport

Monday, February 4

12:00 PM – Welcome Ceremony at the main entrance of the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi

12:20 PM – Official Visit to the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince in the Presidential Palace

5:00 PM – Private meeting with the members of the Muslim Council of Elders at Shaikh Zayed Grand
