Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates are set to gather in Downtown Dubai as the iconic Burj Khalifa, Dubai once again displays the Philippine flag in celebration of the country’s 128th Independence Day.
The LED facade of the world’s tallest building will showcase the red, white, blue, and yellow colors of the Philippine flag at 8:10 p.m. Gulf Standard Time on June 12, marking Philippine Independence Day.
The annual light show has become a tradition for the Filipino community in the UAE, symbolizing national pride and solidarity abroad.
Since 2019, the Burj Khalifa has featured Philippine-themed illuminations on Independence Day, with similar displays held in subsequent years, including the 127th anniversary celebration in 2025.
Organizers and community members are encouraging Filipinos to bring their families and friends to witness the event, describing it as a shared moment of pride and unity for overseas Filipinos.
