Death penalty sought for man who killed 5 people in parlor in Abu Dhabi

A Bangladeshi man is under trial for allegedly killing five people at a massage parlor in Abu Dhabi where his girlfriend worked.

The prosecution team is seeking death penalty for the accused who is said to have stabbed another man to death after the latter paid for sex with his girlfriend, reported Khaleej Times.

Four other women who were also at the massage parlor when the crime happened were also killed.

Authorities discovered the bodies after a person in the neighborhood reported foul smell coming from the parlor.

Following an investigation, the Bangladeshi man and his girlfriend were both arrested. Eight other people were also arrested for having knowledge of the crime and attempting to cover up for the Bangladeshi man.

Before the court, the Bangladeshi man pleaded not guilty despite initially admitting to the crime before the police.

The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance said that before a death penalty verdict could be released, the family of the victims have to decide if they will pardon the Bangladeshi man in exchange of blood money.
