The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported that a total of 133 foreigners were barred from entering the country in 2018 for being “rude and disrespectful” to immigration officers.
In a report to Commissioner Jaime Morente, BI Port Operations Division Chief Grifton Medina said that among the foreigners barred from entering the country include 37 Chinese nationals, 25 American nationals, and 23 South Korean nationals, among others.
Medina said that the foreigners were also added to immigration blacklist of undesirable aliens which means they can no longer enter the country.
“The entry and stay of foreigners in the country is only a privilege, not a right,” Medina said.
“Insulting BI officers is not allowed,” he added.
Medina reminded foreigners entering the country to be respectful of immigration officers and other airport or seaport staff and officials.
