The First Filipino Architecture and Engineering Summit 2018 saw more than 500 of the UAE’s Filipino architects and engineers in attendance. The inaugural event, themed “Filipino Architects and Engineers: United as One in Shaping the Future,” was graced by Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana together with the Philippine diplomatic corps.
“This is the summit of all summits. Architects and Engineers work side by side to make visions a reality. As Filipino professionals continue to make an impact throughout the region, it’s about time to change the narrative and collectively lift up the image of Filipinos as global citizens,” said Quintana.
The event was organized by five organizations: Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – UAE Chapter headed by Chapter President Engr. Vinzor Yee Concepcion who served at the Summit Chairman, together with Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers – Abu Dhabi Chapter led by their President Engr. Robert Noel Peria, Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines – Abu Dhabi Chapter headed by their President Engr. Celeste Infante, Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – UAE Chapter headed by their Governor and 2017 TFT Engineer of the Year Engr. Louie Mel Maliksi, and the United Architects of the Philippines – Abu Dhabi Chapter headed by their President and TFT 2018 Architect of the Year Rodel Ayala.
