A four-year old girl was rescued by the Dubai Police from an escalator that malfunctioned inside a mall in Dubai.
According to Colonel Abdullah Bishwa, Deputy Director of the Dubai Police Search and Rescue Department, the operation of the escalator was immediately stopped when the girl’s shoe got stuck in between the steps.
He also added that presence of mind is important in such incidents as this; noting that in some cases, escalators do not immediately stop and needs the emergency button to be pressed.
Colonel Bisha also warned parents of the danger of leaving children alone in escalators and elevators, reported Araa News.
