OFWs in the UAE are advised to be vigilant when liking, following, and sharing information from Facebook pages as there have been reports that the fake Facebook page of The Filipino Times, poorly misspelled as “The Fillpinoo Times” is still up.
The page attempts to lure the unsuspecting Facebook user by using the logo of The Filipino Times and has also been reported to have increased visibility as it continues to create “Sponsored” posts.
Here’s a step by step guide to report them as a scam page:
Step 1: Go to their page: https://www.facebook.com/The-Fillpinoo-Times-226014509400…/…
Step 2: Click the Ellipsis “…”
Step 3: Click: “Report”
Step 4: Select: “It’s a scam”, then Continue
Step 5: Select: “This Page is fake” then Continue
Step 6: Select: Mark this Page as a scam, then Done
The Filipino Times is in no way related to the aforementioned web page and will not be liable for any damages that the fake page will cause to its users/followers.
