A local bus company has launched the country’s first honesty bus on the road. G-liner announced in its Facebook page the trial of the honesty bus on Thursday and requested their passengers to pay honestly.
“Passengers are requested to place their payments inside the fare box HONESTLY,” the company wrote.
In the new scheme, the bus will no longer have a conductor but passengers will have to drop their fare at a box. Copies of the fare matrix were posted around the bus to inform passengers how much they are supposed to pay.
Meanwhile, some netizens commented that while it was nice, it could also be inconvenient especially if they do not have the exact amount of money. Others wished the bus liner goodluck for their bold move.
“Sana umubra dyan at di samantalahin,” wished one commenter.
The project aims to teach passengers how to give way and be patient. The honesty bus is enroute from Taytay to Manila.
