Guhit Pilantik on-the-spot drawing contest hails Abu Dhabi’s young artists

Guhit Pilantik, an on-the-spot drawing contest held as one of the events during the recently held Philippine Independence Day Celebrations at the Abu Dhabi National Theatre, hailed three young artists who drew about the theme “Pahalagan ang pagbabago – sa kabataan magiging huwaran ako”.

Out of a total of 8 participants who entered, Paris Ashley Reyes won 1st place with her art that focused on OFWs as the new heroes of the new century. 2nd placer Angela Pauline Antonio’s work was a representation of the flag with the Filipino at its heart. 3rd placer Marione Rachel Robel’s work showed “Inang Pilipinas” with a representation of the colors of the flag and the Filipino citizens.

Guhit Pilantik was organized by the Association of United Filipino Workers for Welfare and Assistance in Abu Dhabi (AUFWWAAD) and the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers in the UAE (PICE-UAE). Abu Dhabi’s PIDC 2018 was organized by the Bayanihan Council in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
