The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on Wednesday, June 27, began the installation of the glass-walled passenger boarding bridges worth Php319-million at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1.
MIAA general manager Ed Monreal said the Chinese-made boarding bridges will replace the 33-year-old boarding bridges currently used at the airport.
Monreal said the current boarding bridges are prone to breakdowns.
The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by March 2019 headed by China-based CIMC-TianDa Airport Support which has serviced more than 200 airports worldwide.
