The Ramadan is the most anticipated religious affair by Muslims, a period of spiritual reflection and a month-long celebration of warmth and unity. More than these, the Holy Month is also a time of giving and sharing.
The spirit of Ramadan is rife in the UAE and every night since the start of the Holy Month, volunteers spend hours of the streets, distributing Iftar meals to their brothers and sisters.
Imagine the volunteers’ surprise when one day, a car pulled over and sitting inside was His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid paid the volunteers a surprise visit and engaged in long conversations with them.
Videos of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s visit made rounds on social media and quickly became viral.
In one of the pictures uploaded on Instagram, Sheikh Mohammed can be seen talking to some volunteers and exchanging Iftar meal boxes with them.
Another photo revealed a young girl’s happiness upon meeting the Dubai Ruler.
This is not the first time Sheikh Mohammed made the spirit of Ramadan felt. In his official Instagram account, the esteemed ruler had photos which show that the spirit imbibed by the holy season is made felt in his home.
