President Rodrigo Duterte visited the wakes of former Senator Edgardo Javier Angara and Alvaro “Cheng” Muhlach, the father of actor Aga Muhlach on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
Duterte went to the Heritage Park in Taguig City to pay tribute to the former senate president, who died of cardiac arrest.
He was accompanied by Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go.

The president also paid his last respects to the departed Muhlach patriarch who died in his sleep last May 12 due to cardiac arrest.
The younger Muhlach posted a video showing President Duterte’s arrival at the chapel of Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City where Cheng’s wake was held.
“Maraming salamat, Pangulong Duterte for paying your respects to my Dad. It meant so much to me and my family,” Muhlach wrote on Instagram.
Aga’s wife, Charlene Gonzales also shared some photos of the said visit on her Instagram account.
As seen in a tweet posted on the official Twitter account of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, President Duterte was also accompanied by Go during Cheng Muhlach’s wake.

According to an article published by the Philippine Star, the remains of Cheng were already buried in the afternoon of May 15.
