Saudi Arabia may soon grant visa to tourists, with rules and regulations now awaiting government approval amid the country’s plans to improve its travel and tourism sector.
The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) said an announcement from the Saudi government regarding the issuance of visa to tourists should be expected soon, reported Arabian Business.
The SCTH added that regulations for tourist visas have been reviewed in a series of meetings and workshops with government institutions.
Authorities, headed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, have also developed an electronic system that will help in processing visa applications.
The move comes months after Saudi announced plans to issue tourist visas during the first quarter of 2018 for “all nationals whose countries allow their citizens to visit” Saudi Arabia
