This church had its humble beginning in the Philippines in 1914. Nowadays, Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) is busy with its global expansion – establishing congregations all over the world and recently, acquiring another town in the United States.
INC purchased the 200-year old town of Johnsonville in Connecticut for $1.85 million (P94,124,300). This town is a 62-acre (twice the size of Deira City Centre) abandoned property with a church, meeting house, pond, and covered bridge.
“Johnsonville looks like it was frozen in time. It’s a beautiful, picturesque property, so all our efforts will be focused on restoration. We will also establish our first eco-farming here in the US to create jobs and livelihood in this town,” Santos added.
In 2011, INC bought a 46-acre property in Scenic, South Dakota.
