US mom gives birth to 6.5 kilo boy

The average weight of a newborn is from 2.5 to 4.5 kilos. But South Carolina mom Cindy Richmond gave birth to an unusually heavier baby on June 30.

Richmond’s third child, named Colin Austin Keisler, weighed 6.5 kilos when the baby was delivered by C-section at the Lexington Medical Centre. He was the heaviest baby delivered in the hospital in the last 30 years and among the biggest in South Carolina.

The clothes and diapers his parents bought did not fit the baby, so they had to buy bigger sized ones.

Colin’s dad, Austin Keisler, predicted his boy will grow up to be the tallest in his class. The 6-foot-2 father said he was as tall as Colin when he was born, but his weight as a newborn was just half that of his son.
