Four air-conditioned container vans are serving as classrooms of students in an Aeta village in Dinalupihan, Bataan pending the construction of their school building.
The container van classrooms cater to Bayan-Bayanan Elementary School’s pre-elementary to Grade 3 students.
The community expects the arrival of three more container vans within the month to accommodate Grade 4 to Grade 6 students.
Mayor Maria Angela Garcia said the container van-style classrooms will be temporary while they wait for the construction of a new permanent building.
The public institution schools 185 children, including Aeta natives.
Students and teachers previously held classes in Bahay Kalinga and a village convent for five years since the existing school building was declared unsafe due to landslides in 2012.
